Hello Kimberly,
If a resource is overallocated on less than the leveling setting (by
default "Day by Day"), the resource's name will still show in red. In
Project's definition if the resource has more work scheduled for one
minute than his/her maximum units allow, they are overallocated,
therefore the name is red and the resource graph shows an
overallocation. For example, if you have a resource's maximum units
set at 100% and the resource is assigned to a task scheduled from
09:00 to 10:00 at 100% but is also assigned to another task scheduled
from 09:45 to 12:00 at 25%, for the 15 minutes from 09:45 to 10:00,
the resource's peak units is 125%, exceeding the max units by 25%.
Even though the resource is only scheduled to generate a bit over 1.5
hours of work for the entire day, the resource is overallocated
because of the 15 minutes where peak is above 100%.
See FAQ # 28 "Resource Leveling Does Not Remove Overallocation" and
FAQ #34 "Overallocation Occurring in Less Than One Day" at
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm
for some further information and instructions on how to have Project
solve all overallocations.
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
