I have a fixed amount of work (e.g. 100 days) ,which needs to be done
within the next 10 month. Now I want to split this work beteen 2
resources.
Resource A should work 60 days
Resource B should work 40 days
How can I do this in project without changing the total of 10 months?

Hi Wolf,

Create the task with 40 weeks. (You may need to adjust the duration to suit
your specific requirements.)
Split your screen to show the task form at the bottom. Set the task type to
fixed duration. Click OK in the task form.
In the task form select Resource A and enter 60d of work.
Underneath Resource A, select Resource B and enter 40d hours of work.
Click OK in the task form.
MS Project will calculate Resource A's unit assignments at 30% with 480
hours of work and resource B's unit assignment at 20% with 320 hours of
work.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie,

thanks for your help. The only problem I have by doing like you
suggested is the following:
If I change the duration of the task, then the work for my resources
changes.
I would like that the total work is fixed and the daily hours change
depending on the duration.
That's why I tried it with fixed work (effort driven), but there I
cannot split the work between 2 resources unevenly.

Thanks

Wolfgang

Hi Wolf,

Thanks for the feedback. The previous suggestion I gave was in response to
the portion of your previous post saying that you didn't want project to
change the duration.

If you wish to have project modify assignment units based upon changes in
duration, then yes, you need to use a Fixed Work task type. You can set the
task type to fixed duration to have Project calculate the unit assignments
as I posted earlier. Then if you wish to keep the work stable but be able
to change duration, change the task type to fixed work.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
