Resource Pool - resource usage view time scale

I have a resource pool file created Jan 2006 that is now in use a common pool
across the enterprise. The start period of the timescale in the resource
usage view always defaults May 2006. Is there a way to change this default?
We are in the midst of 2007 budget planning and it would be nice to see
resource usage views start Jan 2007.

I do understand that you can set the start/end period when printing the view.
