resource usage

Hi. Interested in knowing if you can export the data from the View "resource
usage". Would like to have data within Excel to make executive summaries of
the resource, such as %utilized each month/qtr/day? any ideas? or perhaps
project can help with these queries? thanks.

In Project 2003, there is a tool bar named "Analysis" withe a large button
:"Analyze timescaled Data in
Excel..."

Pardon me for chiming in. As Gerard mentioned, use the "analyze
timescale data in Excel" utility. You will get different results based
on the active view in Project. For example, an export from the Resource
Usage view will give a different "cut" of the data than an export from
the Gantt Chart or Task Usage views.

Unfortunately, the utility is rather limited in its format and it may
take multiple exports and manipulation of the data once it is in Excel
to get what you need. Project 2007 expands export capability with its
Visual Reports feature, however the ultimate functionality for creating
custom reports is through VBA.
