Resource work time.

I have a meeting scheduled for which 3 resources are assigned attend. The
meeting is 3 hours long. I have the calendar set up so that task bars list
the task name and work. Since there are 3 resoures who are assigned to a 3
hour task, the work on the task bar in the calendar view indicates that the
work is 9 hours. The task duration is, by design, set to 1 day with 38% of
the resources time allocated to it for that day. Is there a way I can
indicate, in the task bars, the duration of 3 hours without changing the
duration from 1 day in the gantt chart?

Why would you want a 3 hour task to show a duration of 1 day?

It seems like what you should do here is to set the task duration to 3
hours, mark it as a fixed duration task, and turn off the effort-driven
setting. This way as you add more resources the duration will stay the same
and each resource will be assigned 3 hours of work.
