Resources - Limit to list

Is there a way that I can limit the resources that someone can assign to a
task to the resources that I have already included on the resources page? I
have each existing employee and their pay rate on the resource page, but if I
am typing a task, tab to the resource field, and begin typing a first name of
an employee, then tab out, it add that first name as a new resource

You cannot totally prevent this behavior in the software, which is the
default behavior by the way, but you can at least get the software to warn
you before adding a new resource to the project. Here's how:

1. Open a project
2. Click Tools - Options
3. Click the General tab
4. Deselect the "Automatically add new resources and tasks" option
5. Click the "Set as Default" button
6. Click OK
