restart numbering changes text alignment

I've created styles using auto numbering. Various subsequent lists will
restart numbering -- if I right-click and select Restart Numbering, my
alignment is thrown off for that level numbering throughout the document.
HELP!

outline-numbered list, you can use higher outline levels to restart lower
levels.
