Restore a pst file

Fred

Hello,

I've encountered a disk failure this week end and I've
just reinstalled all my system including Office XP, but
problem is I have on a cd the content of c:\documents and
settings\administrator\local
settings\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst

So I've copied it to the disk, changed the attributes of
the file but problem is when I try to start Outlook :
cannot open outlook.pst file because it's not a good file
for personal folders.

So my question is, how can I import this file now?

If I try import from the file menu of Outlook, it says
it's impossible...

Thanks
fred

Fred,

Just to clarify, you have copied the pst file to your
local hard drive and then changed the attriubtes to
remove the read only tab correct? If so, you may want to
manually add the pst file as an extra data file in an
existing mail account. I've found that going that route
and manually copying the mail categories to my "NEW"
account has worked.

Hope this helps,

Craig

Yes, I've copied a backuped outlook.pst, remove the
attributes to avoid access problem.

I've alreay tried, from a new account, import my other
outlook.pst but it cannot be opened. Maybe was my old
Outlook another service pack, do you think it can be a
problem?

I can try to add it as extra data file...

thanks
fred
