Thks JoAnn.
Excuse my language errors. I´m in/from Spain (Marbella).
Its a Word 2000, 500 page doc. I had no automatic back up configured.
Except, that ,as you know, after a hang up, Word 2000, offers the chance to
recuperate and save the file.
But I had several files simoultaneously opened and hang. I saved all of
them, clicking very fast. And this important file, was the only one saved
but... with only a few K´s (20?). A kind of wrong save, due to my clicking
speed (it seems to me). And it was saved in non readable carachters. I kept
working with the PC (naive boy...!).
My Docs file is 8 Mb, out of a 30 Mb. maximum memory capacity (besides the
S.W.). &0 Mb. total. Later, I searched through Windows, but got nothing else
than the quoted poor save. Despite that I had older versions been erased by
me (on purpose). I installed 2 retrieval, very average S.W. And nothing
found. I know -very probably-, it has been overwritten by Word. And lost my
500 page book.
What can I do? As I said, a friend can use MS-DOS.

What do you mean by you "tried to save up"?
If it's just a few K, it's gone unless you have your system set to create
backup files. That's a setting *you* would have set, it's not a default
setting so you'd remember doing it. (I hope.)

After a hang up, I tried to save up a word file. I did it too fast. But it
got erased.Perhaps it was the PC or me who did it. Apparently it saved
very
little K´s. How can I recuperate it? Search doesnt find it. If neccessary,
a
friend can use MS-DOS.
