I am currently running Office Professional 2000 on my computer.
I purchased a new version of Office XP 2002 that I want to replace 2000 with.
How can I install it and keep my old information?

Hi J.C.H.,

Upgrading Office does not normally remove any of your old
data files, but it's always a good idea to backup your
files first anytime you're doing an update or configuration
change of any type.

To have more control over the update process, choose
the 'custom' installation choice and walk through your
choices on each menu. This also helps you become more
familiar with what is new in Office XP and the 2002 apps.

Note that if you have an Office XP edition that doesn't
have all of the apps of Office 2000 Professional (for
example the small business tools are no longer in Office)
then the installation program will leave the others behind
so you can still use them (keep your Office 2000 CDs)
and you may need to manually uninstall them.
