Same Resource in Groups

I want to be able to assign one resource to several
resource types. For example, Bill is a developer, but
also a peer. I want to be able to assign him as either
type; developer or peer. When I assign resources to a
task, I can only see the resource name, not the type. Is
there a way around this other than creating resources with
names like "Bill - peer" and "Bill - developer"?

Thanks,
David

Hello David,
What is the version of MS Project you are working with ?
Project 2002 and 2003 allow the activation of a resource filter in the
"Assign Resources" Dialog box. You just need to create a custom field with
your 'resource type" parameter and use it in this filter.
- create this custom field in the Resource sheet of Project Standard if you
use it
- create this custom field in the Resouce Global if you are working with
Project Server

Hope this helps,
