saved account for groove is too old.

Hi Everyone,

I recently had to format my PC due to some security reasons, before
formating PC I saved my groove account as an file(.grv) into my PC for later
restoration. Now I have setup my PC and installed groove back again, but as i
am going to restore my groove account from file it is throwing Error:

Saved account for Faraz Hassan is too old and cannot be installed. Please
import a more recently saved version of this account.

Can anyone please tell me how can i login to my Groove account?

Hi,

Here's a procedure I already used once in the past.
It worked fine, although I am not sure about side effects.
Therefore, you may take some precautions and disconnect from the
Internet and/or network first :

Steps :
- first disconnect from the Internet
- then change the date on your your PC, to represent a date not later
than 60 days after the date you made the backup of your Groove account.
- once done, inject your account (do not retreive any data yet !)
- don't forget to reset your system clock to today's date
- and finally connect to the Internet / network to retreive your data

I am pritty sure this will solve your problem

Note that you may need to get reinvited in workspaces you received after
the Groove account backup date.

Whit SP1 the 60 days limed is gone. The is also a hotfix if you don't have
SP1
