Saving a picture to server

M

Mary Ann

Hello,

I have Amazon products on my site and they have a new feature I want to take
advantage of. The instructions say to save the product to my server but I
don't know how to do that. I tried to copy & paste but it but caused a
problem with the script. I'm using FP 2003, can someone please tell me how to
save the pic to my server? Thank you

OK, tried that but it won't allow me to do it. When I open the product in
Amazon it says "save image to your server". I'm assuming I should right click
and do something but what I don't know. My options are: save target as, copy
shortcut, copy, save picture as, and send to. If I save it to the desktop, it
doesn't come with the html I need. "Send to" options are blog, SMS & Gmail.
If I copy and paste I get script errors.

How do I save to the server? IF I go to FP and click "import" and then go to
the page where the item is, it says functioned not allowed.

Once you save it to your desktop, then Import it into your FP website - the
html may have to be modified to reflect where in your FP website you
Imported it to.

Thanks Rob, you're always helpful.
Please tell me what it means when they say "save to your server" as usual I
can't get any help from the companies in which I'm doing business.

Translated to FrontPage-ish, that means; Publish to your server.

Have you published your website to the server yet?

Yes, I have several sites up.
Amazon says, "save to your server" for a product so I guess that means save
to your computer, insert into your web site and then publish?

Save to 'puter, Import into FP, insert where needed, save, Publish to remote
server. Yeppers.

OK, that's what I thought. The problem is when I do it this way the html
that's attached to it doesn't follow. I apologize if this is an easy thing
I'm not getting.

You said " html may have to be modified to reflect where in your FP website
you
Imported it to."

I'm not sure what you mean by that. If I insert as suggested then the
picture doesn't do what it's supposed to do, which is when someone rolls
their mouse over it a small window opens and a review of the product pops up.

Yah...you may have to modify the url path to reflect that you now have the
image in your web...usually snippets you copy are setup to pull the image
from the online source; Amazon.com..whatever.

If you can't figure it out just go ahead an publish it to your server, then
come back here and post the url to the page and someone will help you fix
the broken link.
