saving any Office documents to Windows XP

When I try to save a office document, either when I have modifyed it or it
is a first time save, I find that when I change the name of the document it
takes a short while for the text to appear.
Is there a fix to this or not?

Can any one help?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated .
