Saving Documents - Word 2007

I created two documents in Word and saved them on a shared server. I
searched for them (using the same pc) and they were not there. I opened Word
again and looked for them on the shared server and they were there. Why is
it that they do not appear if I do a search on the server but they appear
when I open Word?
