Saving drawings made in One Note

How do I export flow charts made with One Note?

When I save to Word, the margins are shifted left, all of the text is
outside the geometic figure and the arrows are not pointing in the right
direction.

I save with a ."doc" suffix. Should I save as a different type of document?

If you don't need to edit it, use a screen shot instead of that. If you need
to edit it, I would try doing copy and paste instead of the save to Word.
Finally, if that still doesn't keep things together enough (and sometimes it
doesn't), I have found that pasting to PowerPoint and then to Word works a
little better.
