someone helped me before-trying to save a new page I am creating but when I
try to save it say's "to save this page and photo gallery open a front page
based web site and save the page to that file"
I am trying to make a new page with the photo gallery lay out and I just
bought the front page 2003 as suggested so WHY CAN'T I SAVE the darn page?

Read the error again:"to save this page and photo gallery open a front page
based web site and save the page to that file

The key phrase: Open a FrontPage Web/Site and save the page...

You must create a Web/Site first. Then within the web/site create the
page(s)...create your photogallery on a page, Import the images into FP from
where ever you have them on your hd (resize, optimize them first) then Add
them to y our gallery in the gallery dialog boxes. Save the page.

Because you must have web / site open first, not just a page.

1. Create folder on HD

2. Launch FP

3. File Menu | Open Site

4. Browse to the folder you created in step 1

5. Allow FP to make it a web / site

6. Once the site is open, import all images (File Menu | Import) that you want to use in your photo
gallery into a folder within your current open site

7. Now create a new page and add the Photo Gallery and point the photo gallery to use the images
from the folder you imported the images into within your web / site

So you are working with a FP web that was created with a previous version of
FP?
Are you working with the local copy opened..the web/site that is on your hd?
