Saving Projects Offline

DebraA

I have a published project.
I decide to save it offline.
I make changes to the offline document and click the save
button.
Next day I try to open the document and the changes
disapear. Any ideas?

Where did you open it from the next day? When did you save the project back
online?

Did you do the following when you were saving and opening an offline
project. While you were still connected to your corporate network:

1. Open Microsoft Project 2002, select your user account, and click the
Connect button
2. Click File - Open and open the project from the Project Server database
3. Click File - Save Offline
4. Close Microsoft Project 2002

While you were away from your corporate network connection:

1. Open Microsoft Project 2002, select your user account, and click the
WORK OFFLINE button
2. Click File - Open
3. Select the Offline project from the list of offline projects in the
Project Server database
4. When finished editing the project, click File - Save to save it

In the first set of four steps, step #3 is vital as this saves your project
as a genuine offline project. Clicking File - Save As and then saving as an
..mpp file DOES NOT make your project an offline project. In the second set
of four steps, step #1 is the key to working in offline mode. Let me know
if this helps.
