schedule project task 5 days before implementation

I need to schedule an activity to ensure that change tickets have been
approved 5 days (T-5 with T being Move to Production) before move to
production. Is there a way to do this in MS-Project 2002?

What makes it messy is that I need to know the move to production date
(which has other dependencies) before I can calculate the T-5 and the change
ticket approval task falls before the move to production. I can hard code but
would prefer a systemic way to handle this.

Thanks

Hi Earl,

Link the "Change Tickets" task to the Move to Production task in a start to
start relationship (Move to Production as the predecessor) and add a 5 day
lead (-5d lag) to the link relationship.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hello Earl,
If I understand correctly, and if the "Move to production" task is on row
#10, I would set the predecessor for "Change ticket" as : 10SF-5d
Hope this helps, tell us if that works.

Hello Gerard,

Yes, that works. I started playing around with lags after I submitted my
initial note and it does the trick. Thanks for the quick response.
