Full time resouce usage

Hello all,

Does MS Project have mechanism to automate change resources usage during
resource leveling procedure?
For example I have to write two documents and approve it. The approving
requires 15% of my time and duration in 5 days. The document witting require
5 days if I spend 100% of my time.

So I enter the following tasks:
1. Writing document 1 – 100%, 5 days
2. Approving document 1 – 15%, 5 days, depended of task 1
3. Writing document 2 – 100%, 5 days, depended of task 1
4. Approving document 2 – 15%, 5 days, depended of task 3

I want MS Project allocate my time for full time work as soon as possible,
so I want to get the following resource usage:
1. First 5 days – Writing document 1 – 100% full time
2. Second 5 days – 15% Approving document 1, and 85% Writing document 2
3. Later: 100% work in writing document 2, and after that approving document 2

I want to specify this strategy in my tasks, but I can’t do it. Each set of
task priorities and limits values get other scheduling (of cause I can
manually to specify my scheduling but it not likely for me).

Can anybody help me? How I can specify my tasks properties to get my
schedule strategy?

In short no. What you are describing here is optimisation and Project
does not have that functionality inbuilt.

I would set the level-of-effort writing the second document to 85%.
While this means the activity takes longer than you think it should, you
presumably don't know exactly how long the task will take and so you are
giving yourself a little time contingency by doing this.

If you want to optimise further you will have to manually adjust the
hours allocated in either the Task Usage or Resource Usage views.

By compressing all the tasks down in the way you are describing below
produces a very risky schedule because it makes no allowance for you
being off sick or being asked to do other high priority work for a while.
