How can I schedule a task to start on a Monday after the previous task is
scheduled to complete?
ex.

task 2. ( start the Monday after task 1 is scheduled to complete )

thanks

If the task can only start on Monday, what happens if it is more than 1 day
long? Does it have to skip to the next Monday to complete, work ONLY
occurring on Mondays in other words, or after starting Monday can the
balance of the work be done on Tue, Wed, etc?

the task is only .5 hour.. I'm using hours to enter time, but it can only
happen on a Monday after the other task is done

My question still stands - if the previous task is such that you task will
start at 16:45 (assuming the day ends at 17:00). Can the remaining 15
minutes be done on Tuesday, will it have to wait until the following Monday,
or is it required to start and end on the SAME Monday and can't be split at
all? It's not an academic question - the best way to accomplish your goal
depends on just what the complete requirements are for the task.

the monday task will start and end on Monday it will not carry over another day

if the previous task carries over past when the monday task will start it
will have to start the next Monday.

basicly I need a formula where the days of the week have values like sunday
is 1, monday =2 etc..

then I'd use a lag where = the monday task - the previous task

Hi John,

Link Task 1 as the predecessor to task 2. Create a new calendar
(Tools>Change Working Time) where only Monday is working time (All other days
are non-working.) Assign the calendar to task 2 (Double click on Task 2 and
on the Advanced tab select the new calendar).

[Note: Task calendars are only available in Project 2000 and later.]

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I have a similar situation where I have a 5 day task (scheduled product
demos) that should occur on the following Monday after the previous task is
complete. The calendar method would work great if this were only a single
day event. Any other suggestions, other than a manual "Must Start On" action?

Thanks,

Larry

Hi Larry,

There is an option that should work. (A couple of assumptions in the steps
that follow. Standard calendar times set from 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to
17:00. If your project calendar is different, adjust the times of the
custom calendar as needed.)

Create a 1 minute task (Task C) in between your two tasks - product demo
(Task B) and its predecessor (Task A).
Link A>C>B.
Create a calendar (Tools> Change Working Time - New) that only has Mondays
from 07:58 to 07:59 as working time. Every other day is set as nonworking.
Assign the newly created one minute calendar to the 1 minute Task C.

Because Task C can only be done Monday morning, your product demo (Task B)
will follow and start on Mondays.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
