scheduling an event

Hi,
probably a stupid question, but I just started using project...
How can I schedule an event (or happening) to a given day? i.e. relating to
a specified activity, in a given day (that is not either the begenning or
the end) I recive some material from a supplier; I need to mark that day in
order to remember this happening, how can I do it?

You can establish predecessors and successor tasks in Project. One way to do
this is to click Window/Split from the menu. A new pane opens on the bottom
in Gantt View.

One of the columns in the new pane is Predecessors. You may place the ID
number (Task Number) of a predecessor task in the field. For example:

Task1: Issue Purchase Order for Widget
Task2: Supplier Delivers Widget

In task 2, you would enter Task1 as the predecessor. You may also add a lag
time in that column and a relationship between the tasks. For example here,
the supplier may need 30 days to fill the request.

Much more information is about it if you type predecessors into the help.

If the date is fixed in time, you can key the date in the start column.
This is generally not recommended. In our example here, suppose task2
contained a hard coded date and then task 1 completed 2 weeks late...
