MDT

I recently installed Microsoft Office 2003. When I tried to use the Screen
Clipping function in One Note, I could not see the Screen Clipping button. I
tried to search all available buttons/commands but could not find the Screen
Clipping one!

Any help on solving this issue?

Many thanks in adavance.

You should find it on the Insert menu, if nothing else. Check there.

Kathy, thanks for responding. I checked the Insert menu but could not see
it! Any clue?

Weird. It should be about halfway down the menu list, between Document as
Picture and Symbol. What does your insert menu list for commands?

Thanks, it lists:
--------------------
New Page
New Subpage
New Section
New Folder
Picture...
Symbol...
Extra Writing Space
-----------------------

It might be a problem with the installation!

Thanks,

Does the menu list end in a chevron (Double downward pointing arrow)? If so,
does hovering on the menu item bring up a longer menu?

It sounds like you have shortened menus turned on. To turn them off, go to
Tools--> Customize, then to the third tab. Check the box that says "Always
show full menus". Your menu item should come back.(If you don't have
"Customize" on the tools menu, you can get to it by right clicking in a
blank area of a toolbar.)

Umm... I didn't think OneNote 2003 had a screen clipping feature??

I didn't use OneNote 2003 that much so I don't remember. But if not, go to
www.techsmith.com and download SnagIt. They have a very full featured screen
capture program which I use instead of OneNote 2007's screen clipper anyway.

Josh,
To be honest, I had to go verify it in my 2003 book. I had myself convinced
it wasn't there either :) But it is.

That said: I'll take SnagIt over any other screen shot application any day.
Inexpensive, full functioned, put forth by a great company. Oh - and it even
has the ability to do output to OneNote 2007 directly. What more could you
ask?

It was introduced with SP1.

Good catch John. That's been so long ago, I forgot it wasn't there
originally. Thanks for catching it!

Thanks so much Kathy, John, Josh: The problem is resolved now. I installed
SP1 and got the Screen Clipping.

Thanks for being so helpful.
