Seach function does not search Archives?

I archive large amounts of email every week. Is there a way to search
for messages in the archives and in the current messages at the same
time?

I don't believe the built-in search will span multiple PSTs. There are
search add-ins, however, that can, like Google Desktop Search, I believe.
