Search Folders missing mail

If I create a Search Folder using "mail from people and lists" it
doesn't find any of my mail in Deleted Items.

Any ideas why? I'm using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 5.5.

Thanks
Andy

Not even if you create a custom search folder? Works for me. I just tried
it. New>Search Folder>Custom Search Folder. Make sure you include the
"Deleted Items" folder.

Yes, using a Custom Search Folder does find Deleted Items mail but the
reason I want to use the first approach is because I want to take
advantage of the "Mail from and to specific people" feature. This will
allow me to view all mail pertaining to a given customer or project,
whether I sent them something or they sent me something. This 'Select
Where From = EmailAddress OR To = EmailAddress' facility is not
something that is possible using Advanced Find (as there is no ability
to make OR clauses).

You are misguided to place in the Deleted Items folder messages in which you
have an interest. If you wish to refere to any message at some future
point, place them in some folder other than Deleted Items.

Brian, while I can't fault your best-practice approach, I just hit the
delete button on most of the email I get. However, at a later stage I
may need to refer to an email which, at the time of deletion, I did
not consider critical.

I guess this problem is not resolvable (at least without MS changing
the code!) but thank you for your input anyway.

Cheers
