Security Certificate, unable to retrieve email from server

Version: v.X
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)
Email Client: pop

I have confirmed with ATT/sbcglobal that my settings for retrieving email are correct. I get the error message: "Could not retrieve email", "Security failure. Personal certificate required" Error 2995.

Where can I donwnload teh appropriate security certificate update?

Thank you for any help.

You would get that from ATT/sbcglobal.

However, I suspect you've probably enabled something like "This POP
service requires a secure connection (SSL)" in your account settings but
that the service doesn't support it.

Go to Tools --> Accounts... and double-click your POP account to edit
it. Then under the Receiving mail section at the bottom click the "Click
here for advanced receiving options" button. De-select the first option.

Hope this helps!

Hello. Perhaps you can help me regarding this issue. I cannot send/receive because of the Personal certificate required error message, but when I go into advanced receiving options and select override default POP port to 995 (for my att.net account) it never stays. I go back in and find it no longer checked. Can you help? thank you

Hi,
I'm having similar issues with the 2995 error. I saw the instructions but I am unable to make the changes because Entourage crashes right after sharing the error message. Is there a backstage solution?

thanks,
Ken

This helps only with receiving mail, not sending it. How can I get Entourage to send mail?
