SEE COMMENTS ON SCREEN

AURORA

I am using Word 2000
I want to add comments to my documents (notes to myself)
without having them appear when I print the document. I
tried "Comments" but all you see is a couple of characters
and you have to click on that to see the comment. I want
the comments to appear on screen all the time without
printing. How can I do this?

Aurora,

Type a comment where you want it to appear. Select the comment and go to
Format>Font, check the Hidden attribute. Click OK. Now go to
Tools>Options. Click on the 'Print' tab, make sure that 'Hidden text' is
unchecked under 'Include with document'. Click on the 'View' tab. Make
sure that 'Hidden text' is checked under 'Formatting marks'. Click OK.

Regards,
Chad

Thank you for answering so quickly.
I could not get the results I wanted with a comment.
So I changed the Comment to a text box with the verbage
inside the box with a white border and followed the rest
of your answer and everything works beautifully. I can
see the comment when I open the file but it does not print
out. Thank you - Aurora
