send/receive error

I am getting a send/receive error 'Unknown Error
0x80040116'. This happens after I can see receiving 2 of
6, it gets all the way to 6 of 6 - says 100% complete
then it fails and i get none of the emails.

I've cleared my emails off the server thinking it might
be an bad email coming in. That didn't help

I've hit the test on email account settings and
everything came back ok (except for the test email
actually being delivered).

When i hit send/receive my whole laptop goes into slow
motion.

This also happens when i try and delete an email. I get
the following error: 'file C:\\....\outlook.pst could
not be accessed. Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

either of those actions bring my laptop to an incredibly
slow speed.

I think the problem might be that you're developing (or already have) a bad
sector on your harddrive - that's the disk error error number. You should
run chkdsk, scandisk, or some other disk repair/maintenance utility. And
back up your data!
