setting tab stops

How do you set the tab stops? I have loaded a document into Pub 2007 that has
tab stops at .5. I want to universally change them to .25, but I cannot
figure out how to do it. I have changed the default tab stops, but that
doesn't make any difference.

BTW, what it shows me on the ruler is the little pentagons, with the upper
pentagon set farther in than the lower one. It says these are first-line
indents, but I hit the tab button.

Are you still using a Royal, Underwood or Remington typewriter? Terminology
is different. Programmers try to use terminology akin to that of the
"industry" they are supporting. Sometimes, they don't talk to a broad enough
segment of the industry and the terminology introduced satisfies no one.
