setting upmail merge file

my jpegs aren't showing up in my mail merge document. have the jpegs in the
same folder as excel database. in excel have jpegs listed as firstphoto.jpeg,
second photo.jpeg, etc. and have actaul photos named the same. didn't type in
path because photos in same folder as database. what am I missing?

Are you inserting the field as a picture? I know this is a dumb question, but I
have forgotten to do this in the past.

yes I am selecting picture from the drop down for that specific field. I am
wondering if it has anything to do with how I am setting up the file in
excel. because the pics are in the same folder, i am not typing in the path.
just the picture name and am being careful to name the picture the exact same
name as in excel file. quite perplexed!

That is the way mine is setup. I have four fields one of which is named picture.
My test data simply has, for example, candle.jpg, nothing more. Are you typing
in the extension?

Yes. I have names the field "picture" and have the pictures in the column as
"first photo.jpeg" etc. In the folder I have all the pics as jpegs name
"first photo" etc again as jpegs.

I know so little about Excel. I can do simple data bases to use as mail merges.
All I can tell you is make certain each of your fields have a title.
