Setup screen disappears

I open Add or Remove Proragms, select Office 2007 and click on Change. The
setup screen opens says to wait and then disappears. Is there anything I can
do short of uninstalling and then reinstalling?

Try the Office cd, to modify/repair from

I tried that before. Got a message: "Setup did not complete successfully"

Do I assume Office 2007 is not functioning correctly, or that you want to
add a component?

If you are unable to repair using either the cd, or the options in Word
2007, you may have to resort to the clean up utility, read before using, and
create a restore point.

I wanted to try a repair of Outlook. Regardless, I would like for these
things to function properly. At this point, it is probably an inconvenience;
however, at some point it may become more of a problem.

Thanks for responding and your offer to help. I went to Article 290301.
Cintents of the Readme file does not recommend using the clean up untility to
uninstall Office 2007. The alternative method for uninstalling is
complicated, but may need to use it. Does anyone have experience with any of
the uninstall programs available to remove Office 2007?

Usually a third party uninstall program has to be installed first, before
you install any other program that you eventually want that third party
uninstaller to remove.

Thanks for your advice. It looks like I'll have to go through the alternate
uninstall procedures in Article 928218. I will then try a clean installation
of Office 2007.
