shading a date range in Project

Can I shade in a date range in the Gantt view of MS Project? I want to
indicate periods where something is happening that may affect the project,
but do not want to indicate it as non-working time (which will shade it, but
will also prevent any work scheduled during that time)

Hi,

Create a new base calendar with the "days to be shaded" as nonworking time.
Then through Format, Timescale, nonworking time pd, assign this calendar to
the view.
It will not influence the schedule at all, just the view.
