We've been sharing Office documents from Netware servers and have found
that in order for the doc's to open correctly we've had to grant full
file access rights to the directory locations and flag the files
themselves as Read-only, Sharable to prevent users from saving to the
documents and be able to have multiple users have a single file open.
This has worked fine for this purpose, however an undesirable side
effect is that users can also save documents to these locations. Does
anyone have an idea how to allow the documents to be opened without
error and to prevent users from saving to these locations at the same time?
