Sharing Violation Read-Only

S

Steve Ruff

I had a glitch while a file was open. Now when I open the
file it is read only. I can't delete it. I have saved it
with a new name, but I need to get rid of the origianl
read only file. Even in DOS I get a "sharing violation
reading drive c:" when I try to change attributes. Help
please!

Thank you. I tried this to no avail. All temp files were
deleted. Nothing remains on the computer with ~$*.do?
Still when I try to open the file it says it is read-only
file is in use. Nor can I delete it. Do you have any other
suggestions?

Open a DOS window and run chkdsk /f to repair the disk. You may then be able
to delete it. If not you need to ask in the group pertaining to your
operating system.
