Shortening the time line

I am working on a Gant chart. Presently I have 13 items. The first twelve
are in duration of anywhere from 3-11 months. The final one is for 8 years.
When you print to be on one page the Gant chart is not acceptable. Is there
a way to have the time line defined for months for the first 12 items and
then have the time line compressed to years for the final item, making the
Gant chart look more pleasing to the eye. I know it probably has to do with
the time line at the top but I have not yet figured this out just yet. Can
anyone help me?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hi Chris,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

This is not possible. I suggest you print the first part of the project,
then change the timescale and print the remainder to fit on a second page.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Chris,
Project does not have the functionality to create an expanded or
compressed timeline simultaneously. However, you could create a separate
view for the near term and the long term timelines. Then add a page
break between the near term tasks and the long term task. When you
print, print the first page from the near term timeline view and the
second page from the long term view.

It's not exactly what you want (the whole shebang on one sheet) but it's
probably the best you can do.
