simple deletion of email

Everyone in my office can hit their delete button and bye-
bye to emails. My Microsoft Outlook looks different and it
will not just delete. First is changes the email's color,
draws a line through it and then in a second step I have to
go up and purge the deleted underlined emails.. why? They
are Windows 2000/Office XP. I am on Office and Windows XP.

Because it sounds like you have an IMAP account and that's how you have to
Delete items in IMAP
