Slow send and receive

For some reason my Outlook is slowing down to barely a
crawl with Send and Receive. It's now taking minutes to
do. Any suggestions?

What version of Outlook are you using? Also test whether other download
traffic is fast or slow as well.

Mine just started doing the same thing, as well. It's OL-2002. I just did
a run to get my messages, and on average, it took over 5 seconds per
message, with a lot of disk thrashing. 1200 messages in all, so it took
over an hour to download on a fast (768 Mb) DSL line. The number of
messages is NOT unusual, and it used to take just a few minutes to dowload
them, without all the disk thrashing, up until last week. I don't know what
could have happened to cause this significant slowdown, but it's becoming
unusable :-(
