Sort not available on spreadsheet

When opening a Cognos report in excel the word (grouped) appears next to the
report title. Sort option on excel is then not available.

Are multiple sheet tabs highlighted? If so, right click on one of the
highlighted tabs and choose Ungroup

And a note of caution here.......

While sheets have been "grouped", whatever you have done to one sheet will
have been done to all in the "group".

Best to have a close look at all sheets to see what havoc you may have
wreaked.

I haven't heard about this feature. What does it mean the sheets have been
grouped?

Select one sheet tab then hold CTRL key and select another sheet tab.

Make a change on first sheet, like color a cell or three.

Second sheet will have same change made.

You can group all sheets by right-click>Select All Sheets or by SHIFT + Click
to select contiguous sheets.

Or by the CTRL + Click to select non-contiguous sheets.

Whatever method is employed, you will see [Group] up in the title bar and the
grouped sheets tabs will be colored white.

Very handy feature for replicating across sheets, but can get a little hairy
if user forgets about it.

No warning other than the [Group] and the white tabs.
