Sort on Text Entries

I am looking for the most effective way to sort on text entries. For
example, if I choose Text 1 and then put an X into Text 1 for some lines, I
would like to sort and just see those lines that have the X in them. I have
tried this the various ways with the Sort function and cannot seem to get
this to work. I would also like to be able to do it without expanding the
entire Project file. In other words, sort on X from the top level and it
shows all the sub-tasks that also have X in it. I have not been able to
succesfully ask the on-line help how to do this...

Hi,

What you describe is not called Sort it is called filtering.
There are several ways to filter buut foir your needs it seems that the auto
filter is the best solution
Project, Filtered For... Auto Filter
Click the triangle in the needed column and select the appropriate value.
