Sorting and grouping

Hi,

Our company uses a DMAIC view of tasks. For this we made a custom field.
This means that all tasks will be labeled with a D (define), M (Measure) etc
to establish at which point in the process they are. If I group them to show
how many tasks there are in a specified point, the sorting is alphabetically
(first showing the A, followed by the D, you get the picture). We want them
sorted by the D first, followed by the M, the A etc. Is there any way to
achieve this?
We are looking at creating another custom field where we will enter 1
through 5, sort by these, but display the letters from the DMAIC custom
fields. Any suggestions?

Hi,

In an other custom field put an "If" formula that gives f.i. 1 for D, 2 for
M, etc.; sort on that field but show the other one.
The alphabetical one won't show in the header of the group though - haven't
cracked that one.
