sound in powerpoint

I have some audio WAV files which run 3-6 minutes. I play them in WMP and
they are fine. I insert them in PowerPoint and run the slides. The audio
file stops playing before the end of the sound track.

WHY? and what do I do about it?

In PPT 2003: You need to set your Custom Animation
settings. Right click on the sound icon. Click custom
animation. In the custom animation dialog box, click on
the sound animation. Click on the drop down menu and
select Effect Options. This is where you can adjust your
sound setting, specifically the number of slides after
which you would like you sound to stop.
