Spacing

Why is it that sometimes there are spaces in the middle of a word?
It looks like th is.

Which part of Office are you seeing this? If it is in Outlook, I
often see it when I'm replying to a message that is in HTML format and
I'm editing the original message. My preference is to change the
format to Rich Text whereupon the extra spaces go away.

Are you using any third party fonts? If so, try to use a different font
on the messed up text, and/or use the same fonts from a different
program, to see if the font is to blame (some fonts have erroneous
spacing information). I've also seen strange behaviour in some word
processors (not MS Word, though) when kerning/register true spacing is
enabled.

Email me a sample word doc if the above doesn't resolve the issue.
(you'll have to unmangle my email address first. Do the undone digits!)
