Spell check not working within a table

Help!! I'm using word 2000 and my spell check is not recognizing typos that I have made within a table. I have tried many different things and nothing works. Does anyone know how to fix it??

Have you tried all the options in the Spellcheck menu?
Is it not recognizing as you make the typos, or is it not recognizing as you
manually run the Spellcheck?
If AutoSpellcheck is running, then do you have typos red-underlined when
they are outisde the table?
I think you should provide more details on the AutoCorrection settings and
what Word does now.
