Splitmerge Question

I am trying to load/add the macro/template that would allow me to choose to
split a merging document into multiple documents. I find instructions on
this at http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm

I am not at all familiar with the process or lingo surrounding templates or
add ins.

I have extracted the 2003 version to the STARTUP folder and then I open a
document and attach it to a data source but I get none of the features
outlined in the description on the website.

What am I doing wrong?

The add-in is intended to work with a Letter type mail merge main document
and it is triggered by the action of Executing the Merge to a New Document.
Have you actually proceded to the step of executing the merge.

To make it easier than going through the confusing steps of the Mail Merge
Wizard, turn on the display of the Mail Merge Toolbar (View>Toolbars and
check the Mail Merge item). That toolbar contains buttons for all of the
actions that you need to take in initiating and executing a mail merge and
the Merge to New Document button is one of the ones on the right hand side
of the toolbar.
