Does anybody know where I can find articles on the
standards of powerpoint, ie.. font sizes and how to convey
your message or the meaning behind the powerpoint
presentation?

Sure you will. I think Tufte's design guidelines are along the line of
"Just say no." You might want to check out some interviews from Indezine:

Like Tufte, they talk about how PowerPoint is misused, but they also make
suggestions for how to use it properly.
