Start and End date span 1 day longer than duration

I enter a task with 1 day duration. The start date and end date span over 2
days.
In other tasks, the start and end date span over the correct amount of
duration days. It is not consistant throught out the whole project schedule.

What is wrong here? Is the some setting or something not set right?

Anyone have this happen before in their project schedule?
