Although Office with Microsoft Outlook was installed on our machine we have
used Outlook Express until recently. Wanting to use some of Outlook's
features I started using it. It asked some setup questions which I
answered. All my mail folders and their contents were migrated to Outlook
from OE.
A few days later I wanted to send an email. That's when I found that Office
Contacts and the associated Address Book contained no entries. When I
looked at the Address Book in Office Express it was also empty. In addition
the Address Book for the other Outlook Express user was also empty. She had
not started to use Outlook.
The recycle bin did not contain any *.wab files. A search for *.wab turned
up no hits.
I can't be sure that the OE Address Book disappeared at the time I started
to use Outlook since I had not used it for several days while I was still
using OE.
Anyone have any clues as to what happened? Am I right that there is no
recovery? Other than to reconstruct the addresses in Outlook Contacts.
