Status date in custom filter?

D

I've created a filter for late tasks (start < today's date) AND %Complete
<100%). I can't seem to find the field for 'status date' or 'data date'.
Therefore each week I check progress I'd have to edit the filter to put the
new date in. What is the field for status date? (any other way to quickly
show/report on late tasks?)

Hi Dave,

A couple of options:

You can edit the filter you have created to create an input box where you
can enter the date. Change the criteria for the [Start] test to include
"Enter date"?
(The text between the quotes doesn't matter, the entry must be enclosed in
quotes and end with a ? outside of the close quote.)

You may also like to check out the "Slipping Task" filter.

There is also a field called Status that you could use to create a custom
filter.

Hope these ideas help. Let us know how you get along.

Thanks for the tip on prompting. I was hoping for something system
generated. I tried the slipping tasks filter and it filtered everything on
the project I'm looking at.

Hi Dave,

You're welcome for the interactive filter information.

As I am sure you have discovered, the Slipping Tasks filter compares the
finish of a task to the baseline finish ([Finish]>[Baseline Finish]). If all
of your tasks are scheduled to finish after the Baseline Finish might a
re-baseline be in order?

Based upon your original post and the filter you created (Incomplete tasks
and Start earlier than today), would the In Progress Tasks filter better suit
your needs?

I don't believe there is a way to get Project to carry the information from
the Status Date entry in the Project Information dialog box into a filter.
Sorry.

Hope this helps.

I just baselined a schedule that had some progress in it. When I selected
Slipping task it filtered everything. The finish dates shouldn't have been >
the baseline finish right after baselining.

Thanks, Dave K.
