Stop Office from changing folder when saving an OFT file

N

Noozer

Whenever I choose SAVE AS, the document defaults to save as an RTF file.
When I change it to an OFT file the current folder changes to the Office
Templates folder. I'm already at the folder where I want to save my
templates. HOW do I stop this assinine behavior?

Hi Noozer,

..OFT (Outlook File Template), isn't a Word file type available by default from Word, but Word does switch to the folder listed in
Tools=>Options=>File Locations by default when you choose to save a template file. In the Save As dialog if you click on the
'back arrow' at the top of the dialog when it makes the switch you should be back at the location you wanted, if you aren't
changing the option setting.

The setting in Options helps Word find templates you saved.
