-- strange characters in mail merge

Andre

Hello all,

Ih have a strange problem.
In a .dat file I have several strange characters (like ö, à etc) When
I am using mail merge these strange characters are not merged ok. Is
see other strange characters (japanese characters as well!!) I think
that mail-merge is using a japanese character set as default to merge
the data. Where can I change this????

Thanks for all help and regards from the netherlands,
Anneke.

Hi Andre,

Which VERSION of Word do you have?

If you open the .dat file in Word, then Save As to the Word Document
format, and use this .doc file as the data source do the characters
come in correclty?
